Approaching the city, this monument is dedicated to an extraordinary monk who spent his life developing the Lanna people, famously by leading the charge to build Chiang Mai’s road up Doi Suthep mountain in the 1930s. It is the pride of Ban Mae Tuen in Li District, that he was born in Lamphun.
