During the era of Chao Kawila, people were brought in from across the region to repopulate the area, with many coming from Myanmar. Many settled in Lamphun and this is a village where a group settled and became famous for their weaving skills. The Yong people are renowned for their weaving as well as sewing and many products can be found here.
