Ratsadaphisek Bridge (Saphan Khao)

The city ruler named the bridge after the Ratsadaphisek (silver jubilee) celebrations of King Rama IX. A contemporary bridge of the railway age, it saw both world wars and was saved from bomb attacks by being carefully camouflaged with paint by a Mrs. Lucy Scarling, the then director of the Vijanari School who convinced the allied army that the bridge was not used for strategic purposes.
