Kad Kong Ta Walking Street (Thanon Talat Chin)

Set in what used to be a vibrant trade community a century ago, this area became less important after 1916 when the railway arrived to Lampang, as locals resettled closer to the train station. Kong Ta community was abandoned for some years until its recent revival by turning it into a walking street. Both sides of the walking streets are lined with lovely old wooden houses in a charming combination of colonial, Burmese, Shan, Chinese and Lanna architecture. Local food, handicrafts and souvenirs along with art works can be found here. It is also a great opportunity to sample many local dishes.
